Intensiv-MBA General Management, englischsprachig

The University of Bedfordshire MBA programme can currently be studied in Hamburg, Germany; New Delhi, India; Muscat, Oman and Cracow, Poland  through the Bedfordshire Business School’s association with approved local providers in these locations.

The MBA programme and its constituent modules are first introduced by Bedfordshire ‘Flying Faculty’ lecturers in intensive inductions in the foreign country. Under Bedfordshire Business School guidance the local academic partners then facilitate MBA business school weekends at which strategic knowledge and skills are developed.  Local student contact and support is maintained with the Bedfordshire Business School by e-mail, a virtual learning environment called Blackboard and via online voice-to-voice conferences.

The total period of time taken to study to MBA programme is 4 semesters of 15 weeks making a total of 60 weeks study.  The means that with semester breaks and time taken to ensure marking and feedback the MBA usually can be completed within 21 month. There are 4 phases of attendence per semester. These so called Study Weekends are mandatory and take place in Luton (once per semester) as well as in Hamburg (three per semester).

All lectures and learning materials will be in English. German language skills are not requierd. All MBA assignments and examinations are graded by Bedfordshire Business School staff and on graduation students receive solely a University of Bedfordshire MBA.

Some people refer to online/elearning/distance learning and so on, but we have decided that the mix of learning inputs and materials we provide contribute to a ‘supported’ learning MBA. The component parts of this blended learning MBA programme are:

    * CD ROMs containing learning materials for each module
    * Voice-to-voice internet tutorials
    * Access of the University Learning Resource Centre
    * Use of Blackboard, the University virtual learning environment
    * ‘Flying faculty’ – short overviews of each module by The Business School lecturers at the start of each semester

Entry Requirements:

+ A good first degree in any discipline
+ A minimum of two years’ management experience
+ Good English competence (equivalent to IELTS 6.0)

Exceptional Entry is possible for students who do not possess formal qualifications, but who have substantial management experience.  Please contact the local partner Course Manager for a discussion.

Occupational field/ Target audience

The Bedfordshire Business School’s near twenty-year experience of teaching the MBA has identified that students have many and varied motivations for embarking on the programme: accelerated advancement in the chosen profession; a change of career, direction, sector; a wish to start one’s own business; acquisition of cutting edge business skills and the ability to apply them more effectively.

Whatever the motivation, by embarking upon a course of MBA study with the Bedfordshire Business School and its collaborative partners, the student, already an experienced practitioner, signals to an existing or future employer commitment to taking charge of his or her career and to building strategic skills in
readiness for increased management responsibility.

Bedfordshire Collaborative Partnership MBA students come from a range of sectors and organisational backgrounds – manufacturing, retail and services; the commercial and public sectors; and from both large and small-medium-sized enterprises.  Career progression in all of the above is enhanced – often during the programme and before graduation - by the strategic management knowledge and skills that the Bedfordshire MBA develops.

The MBA is also excellent preparation for further applied research-based academic study in the form of a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA).
