MBA Health Care Management
The MBA Health Care Management programme is designed to improve and develop management skills for those active in the health care sector. The insights acquired not only support an interdisciplinary approach to management tasks but also foster an enhanced awareness of the trends in academia, science, politics and society set to influence the future shape of the health service.
The programme comprises core courses relevant to all MBA Health Care Management students and comprehensive electives on two health sector areas:
* Focus Health Care Organisations * Focus Pharmaceutical Management
In bringing together a broad cross-section of people working in health care processes, the programme promotes and facilitates the discussion of complex issues from very different perspectives and, in this way, en-courages innovative solutions.
Occupational field/ Target audience
This part-time MBA programme is intended for all university and college graduates who have already been working in health care sector facilities and are interested in obtaining a further qualification enabling them to take on executive management tasks, and similarly addresses those already in executive management who plan to further systematically acquire and develop their management skills.
The addition of pharmaceutical supply to the curriculum is certain to prove attractive to those with a background in pharmaceutics or medical technologies who are interested in expanding their horizon and developing new perspectives in this business sector. This two-year programme is offered as a part-time course. This MBA programme is intended for all university and college graduateswho have already been working in health care sector facilities and areinterested in obtaining a further qualification enabling them to takeon executive management tasks, and similarly addresses those already inexecutive management who plan to further systematically acquire anddevelop their management skills.
Focus / Curriculum
The programme is structured around 15 exam modules. The final phase of the programme is reserved for preparing the dissertation.
The programme includes a researchmethods seminar, a strategic planning game, a number of soft skillsseminars on, for example, presentation techniques, negotiations, andmeetings, and regular guest lectures on issues of current interest. To round the programme off, the end of the second year includes a studytrip lasting several days, offering the chance to observe thestructure, services and problems in a health system outside Germany.
