Program Information

MBA (full-time)

The full-time MBA at Furtwangen University is a general management MBA. It empowers our students with the knowledge, skills and experience that will prepare them for their careers in the global business world. Various practice-oriented international business courses are designed to offer students a broad and challenging learning experience, while small class sizes enable us to maintain a supportive leaning environment within a unique ‘familiy’ culture.

All professors demonstrate long-term and international industry experience. They are recognized as leaders in their fields in Germany and abroad.

In addition to individuality and innovation another  main emphasis is internationality: 90% of our students come from all over the world and therefore the program is entirely taught in English. This focus is highlighted by an exchange modul with our partner university Université Haute Alsace in Mulhouse, France

Focus / Curriculum

The program is divided into two semesters.

In Semester 1 there are 9 core courses to be studied. The core courses include International Management, International Economics, Strategic Management, Financial Accounting, International Finance, International Marketing, Human Resource Management, Managing Cultural Diversity and Team Dynamics. Also part of the core courses is a Group Project. It normally takes the form of a consulting project for a real company. Students will work in groups of five. They are jointly required to manage the project from outset through written and oral presentation under the supervision of a professor.

In Semester 2 there are 4 core courses, the continuation of the Group Project and the thesis. The core courses include Operations and Supply Chain Management, Advanced Stragic Management, Leadership and a Business Game. The thesis is a piece of written work prepared on individual or group basis scientifically dealing with a practical business problem. Each thesis is individually supervised by a professor teaching in the related field.
