Course structure
This Executive-style MBA is divided into two stages. Stage One lasts one year and consists of six modules, which give a solid grounding in all the key business functions. The core modules are:
Leadership and Management Development (residential)
Managing Finance and Accounting
The Economic and Global Context
Managing Information Systems
Marketing and Operations Management
Managing People (block study)
Stage Two relates the material of Stage One to major strategic issues. The core modules are:
Management of Change and Innovation (block study)
Comparative Management (including overseas study visit)
Strategic Management
Research Methods
There is also an elective module that enables you to focus on a particular area of management.
The dissertation is a major piece of work of approximately 15,000 words, based on research into an organisation or industry. The Research Methods module in Stage Two of the course prepares you for this, and the dissertation is normally submitted at the end of the semester after Stage Two of the course.
