Andreas Jurt, Managing Director, Credit Suisse The Rochester-Bern Executive MBA Program offers a first-class general management education with a dual degree and weekend format. The demanding program is designed for executives and taught by professors with outstanding track records who live, teach, and consult all over Europe and the United States. Starting yearly in January, students meet biweekly on Friday and Saturday in Thun (CH). In the summer of the first year, in intensive residency of six weeks takes place at the University of Rochester (USA). Afterwards, the courses continue in Switzerland until graduation in June of the following year, only interrupted by a one-week seminar in Shanghai (China), which takes place in spring of the second year. The total program costs are CHF 92,000, consisting of CHF 70,000 for tuition and CHF 22,000 for expenses. Expenses include all accommodation and meals in THun, all accommodation and some meals in Rochester and Shanghai, all books and materials, an iPad, examination fees and the graduation ceremony.

Participants have extensive management experience, work in different industries, and come from all over the world. Throughout the program, they have several opportunities to work with students of the parallel executive program in the United States. Without interrupting their careers, the Rochester-Bern Executive MBA program allows participants to earn an MBA in Switzerland from an AACSB accredited, top-ranked U.S. business school (University of Rochester) as well as an EMBA from a distinguished Swiss university (Universität Bern).
Focus / Curriculum
The Rochester-Bern EMBA program offers an integrated approach to thinking about management problems and a thorough understanding of the cross-functional nature of business decisions. Courses follow a logical sequence proceeding from fundamental tools to strategy considerations. Participants get all the tools necessary to analyze, design, implement, and manage successful business strategies. Class discussions and projects focus on real-world examples and emphasize on immediate application in the work place. The concluding highlight of the program is a capstone project asking students to apply what they have learned in a live business-plan project. Within 18 months, students are provided with the mindset for leaders who want to succeed in today's and tomorrow's business world. Throughout and after the studies, participants have the opportunity to network and exchange with peers and faculty.
